Western North Carolina is renowned as a region rich with trout streams. The Chalet Club is a perfect place to vacation while you test your skills on these various waters. Our lodge and seven spacious guest cottages are located within a short five minute drive to the Rocky Broad, one of the most heavily stocked streams in the state, and fifteen minutes to the Green River. The Davidson, Mills, Linville and Toe Rivers are approximately 40 to 50 miles and an hour drive away.

The Watauga and South Holsten rivers are two of the finest tailwater fisheries in the country offering phenomenal dry fly fishing year around. Both are only a 90 minute drive away.

The Chalet Club's B&B rate plan includes a full breakfast and the use of our boats on Lake Lure. A full country breakfast is served between 8:00 & 9:00.

lkview8.jpg (31371 bytes)Lake Lure is a wonderful habitat for small mouth, large mouth & white bass, and crappie. The Town of Lake Lure, which owns the lake, instituted a stocking program to increase the game-fish population with the addition of over 50,000 bass and trout over the past ten years.

Lake Lure offers a variety of fly fishing opportunities including schooling large mouth, small mouth and white bass, and of course, blue gill always eager to take a popping bug. It is a great place for beginners to become more confident, and also a place where more advanced fisherman can be challenged with precise presentations and long casts.

When researching their data base of stream information, please remember that The Chalet Club is located within Rutherford County and from our property we view Henderson, Buncombe, Polk and McDowell Counties.
