The Washburn family built the Chalet in 1927
and
opened it as an inn in 1934. This incredible legacy spans six generations of our
family with four generations having been active in the management of the
business.
While many businesses are driven by a bottom line on a
ledger sheet, The Chalet Club, Inc. has been developed and refined with the
primary goal of creating an incredible mountain vacation environment. The
success of our hospitality goal is reflected in a comment from a departing
guest...
"Some people are born into hospitality and some are born to be hospitable.
You, it appears are born to be both, and exceptionally good at it...."
Our lives have been enriched immeasurably by the
gift of meeting the many wonderful people who have traveled our way and the
blessing of living in this mountain paradise. We invite you to sample the magic
of our mountain and the fruits of our labor.

Our Current Family of Innkeepers
Our names are Anne and
Bob Washburn. We are the third
generation of the Washburn family to operate The Chalet Club. Exceptional hospitality has
been the mission of our family and staff since Bob's grandfather, Dr. James Murray
Washburn began our legacy seven decades ago.
Dick and Dorothy Washburn, Bob's parents, took the reins of the operation in
1946 and continue to live on the property and contribute to the daily operation.
Inviting accommodations with ambiance that are clean and
quiet , superb meals, hospitality with a personal touch and a wealth of recreation
options remain the standards of The Chalet Club which we strive to maintain. If
vacationing here allows you to return to your daily life feeling nourished physically,
mentally and spiritually - our mission is accomplished.
